About This Role

SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for a skilled MYP Chemistry Teacher to commence in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in the MYP framework. As we expand our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) program, participation in these activities will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquaint yourself with and adhere to SNA school policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and apply IB approaches to teaching and learning (ATL’s) in everyday instruction.
  • Support students with the MYP/DP exhibition as relevant.
  • Engage in collaborative meetings aimed at grade-level, cross-curricular, and program development of the curriculum.
  • Commit to ongoing personal professional development.
  • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with department members regarding planning, assessments, parent and community interactions, subject organization, and classroom management issues, including behavior expectations and routines.
  • Collaborate with fellow colleagues to enhance social and emotional awareness within the school community.
  • Actively participate in behavioral management and provide pastoral care for homeroom and other class groups.
  • Attend and contribute positively to staff meetings.
  • Supervise student breaks as required.
  • Organize class activities as needed.
  • Accurately record assessments, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and parent communications through ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
  • Build relationships with the parent community to keep them informed about student progress.
  • Act as a resource and support for new staff members regarding curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
  • Participate in and assist with school events as necessary and complete any additional tasks assigned by the Line Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Science Education, along with a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in IB or international school settings.
  • A thorough understanding of IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for diverse learners.
  • Strong skills in classroom management and student supervision.
  • Proficient in incorporating technology and digital tools into lesson plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Creative, collaborative, and proactive in engaging with school life and CCAs.
  • Dedicated to child safeguarding and able to provide valid background checks.
  • Eager to participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.

The compensation package is highly competitive and includes:
