About This Role

Behaviour for Learning
Establish, uphold, and continuously assess effective behavior systems to promote exceptional learning behaviors throughout the school. Report key behavior statistics to the senior leadership team and proactively implement strategies for enhancement. Provide guidance to the Principal regarding behavior-related policies and collaborate with parents and students when issues exceed the scope of the Assistant Principals.

Safeguarding
Ensure that child safeguarding and protection measures are strong and continually refined across the school. In the event of a child protection or safeguarding incident, take charge of the investigation and follow-up actions. Serve as the Dedicated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the school.

Well-Being
Take responsibility for the implementation of the well-being strategy and initiatives across the institution, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being of both students and staff.

Staff Training
Provide relevant training for staff to ensure they can effectively apply behavior and safeguarding systems, promoting consistency throughout the school.

Evaluation and Improvement Planning
Assess and evaluate the quality of students’ personal and social development along with their protection, care, guidance, and support, aligning with Standards 2 and 5 of the 2018 UAE Inspection Framework. Take necessary actions for improvements and report evaluation results to the senior team, assisting in the compilation of the SEF while utilizing evaluation data for effective planning.

Holding Others to Account
Establish suitable systems and structures to hold staff accountable. Employ a balanced approach of support and formal procedures to assess the performance of Heads of House, ensuring that staff adhere to the high standards set by GEMS Education and The Westminster School.

Policies and Procedures
Ensure that policies and procedures related to pastoral care, safeguarding, child protection, and well-being are formalized and consistently applied throughout the school.

Accountability to Stakeholders
Foster a culture within the school that prioritizes stakeholder engagement and aims to enhance satisfaction levels among students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
