Upper School Head of Science

Asia International School Limited (AISL), drawing on 450 years of educational excellence from Harrow School in the UK, boasts over 20 years of experience in the education sector, having established international schools in Bangkok (1998), Beijing (2005), Hong Kong (2012), and Shanghai (2016).

Harrow International School (HIS) and Harrow LiDe School Haikou represent a significant initiative for the Hainan government as they aim to develop Haikou into a hub for international education. Harrow Haikou is the first globally recognized educational institution in the province and is set to elevate the standards of quality education throughout the region.

Situated strategically in the Jiangdong District, located at the intersection of Jiangdong Avenue and Linhai Third Road, Harrow Haikou offers K-12 international and bilingual education for both local and foreign day and boarding students. Both institutions commenced operations in September 2020.

We are looking for outstanding staff to fill positions starting in August 2025. Successful candidates will be offered two-year renewable contracts that come with highly competitive employment terms and exceptional working conditions.

We encourage applications from professionals in the UK state and independent sectors, as well as individuals currently working internationally. There may also be opportunities to work with our boarding students.

Application Criteria

• A relevant degree, along with a UK PGCE or another teaching qualification that provides QTS
• At least two years of teaching experience
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England, including IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate
• A passion for teaching and a dedication to educating the whole child
• High professionalism and a commitment to the well-being of children
• Recent and active participation in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, age, or ethnic background
• Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• A positive, solution-oriented attitude toward professional life
• A clean International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) or police check (for applicants without prior UK experience) with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children
