Leigh Academy Blackheath is excited to present an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Facilities Assistant to join our collaborative team as soon as possible. This role will support the broader Estates Team in maintaining the academy premises, which includes general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and refurbishment, porterage, and other responsibilities. You will assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring the health, safety, and security of our vibrant academy. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility in their working hours and responsibilities and may occasionally need to cover for other team members during their absence.

Key responsibilities of this position will include:

- Ensuring the security, maintenance, and accessibility of the Academy’s buildings, furniture, fittings, and equipment.
- Maintaining a satisfactory physical environment while promoting the efficient use of the Academy’s resources to support its educational goals.
- Carrying out a planned maintenance programme for painting and repairs under the guidance of the Facilities Manager.

Candidates should be trustworthy, reliable, diligent, physically fit, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Ideally, you will possess good DIY abilities, some understanding of Health & Safety regulations, basic IT skills, and knowledge of safeguarding practices. This is a permanent full-time position, with working hours from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and a 5:30 pm finish on Fridays, including a one-hour lunch break. The salary for this role is £25,166 per annum, along with 25 days of annual leave and bank holidays.
