About This Role

Currently, the College serves over 740 students hailing from 46 different nationalities. We provide a British National Curriculum tailored for international students from Early Years to Year 9, followed by the IGCSE program for Years 10/11, and the IB Diploma Programme for Years 12/13. JOB SUMMARY:

The Swim Teacher plays an essential role within the College’s Aquatics team, providing high-quality swimming instruction that fosters skill development, water confidence, and enjoyment for students of various ages and abilities. Collaborating closely with the Head of Aquatics and fellow staff members, the Swim Teacher is involved in curriculum swimming lessons and supports competitive squads and extracurricular programs as needed.

This role is predominantly hands-on and student-centered, requiring the planning and execution of engaging lessons while ensuring high safety and safeguarding standards. The successful candidate will create an inclusive and positive learning environment, demonstrating robust technical expertise, effective teaching and coaching abilities, and a commitment to the College's core values of excellence, kindness, sustainability, diversity, and community.

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess:

• A recognized Swim Coaching Qualification

• A Teaching Qualification or relevant Degree

• Personal experience in swimming and competing at a high level

• Extensive technical knowledge of swimming techniques and training methods

• Current lifesaving certification

• Experience in coaching and leading teams at major competitions

• Proficiency in coaching children of varying ages to a high standard

• Familiarity with essential safety protocols related to swimming pools and water safety

• Flexibility and adaptability to the demands of a busy International School Sports program

• A high degree of professionalism and consideration for children's well-being

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A commitment to continuous professional learning and improvement

• A diligent, positive, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to work.

* Experience in an International School setting is preferred.

* Candidates requiring visa sponsorship must provide official employment documentation verifying at least two years of experience in an educational environment for visa purposes.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
