About This Role

Position / Job Specification: Music Intern (ideal for recent university graduates)

Start: August 2026

Department: Primary

Key Responsibilities:

The Music Intern will report directly to the Vice Principal and will work collaboratively as part of a team to enhance students’ learning and creativity within the music curriculum.

The Music Intern will be accountable to the Line Manager designated by The Principal and will execute tasks or projects as directed by this Line Manager.

Tasks:

The Music Intern will:

● Assist in organizing and developing weekly and termly activities aligned with the children’s learning topics throughout the school.

● Create and manage resources in our Music rooms.

● Aid in crafting displays that showcase the children’s musical work.

● Support drama and music events.

● Help maintain the Music online presence (Firefly, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram).

● Contribute to the enhancement and development of the Music curriculum across the school.

● Assist school leaders with additional tasks as required.

Professional Expectations:

The Music Intern should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

● A relevant degree in Music, preferably associated with primary education, or a degree in any field accompanied by a demonstrated passion and notable achievements in music.

● Strong evidence of enthusiasm and creativity in the realm of Music.

● Experience working with young learners is preferable.

● Availability to undertake the internship for the entire academic year from August 2026 to early July 2027.
