About This Role

Employed by: NCBIS - to uphold the vision, positive ethos, and policies of the school.

Responsible to: Deputy Head (Academic)/Head of Department.

Qualifications: Degree and PGCE or QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in teaching or relevant experience.

New Cairo British International School (NCBIS) is seeking to hire an exceptional full-time Secondary Teacher of English.

Who are we?

NCBIS is Egypt's premier British international, not-for-profit institution. We are proud to be an authorized IB World School.

Our community comprises over 60 nationalities among 700 students aged 3-18, with a composition of 60% expatriates and 40% Egyptians, who must possess dual nationality.

We are well-regarded for the quality of our educational programs, featuring a robust CAS component throughout the school, alongside a nurturing learning atmosphere. The school has full accreditation from CIS and holds memberships in COBIS and BSME.

The Secondary School?

In the secondary school, students engage with the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3, evaluated through the Pearson Progression Scale and GL Assessment (PTM/PTE/PTS).

During Key Stage 4, students take Edexcel International GCSE examinations in Year 11.

At Key Stage 5, we offer the International A-Levels program and the IB Diploma Programme as two distinct pathways in Years 12 and 13.

- Understand the needs of students from multilingual backgrounds and hold UK or equivalent teaching qualifications.
- Have proven experience teaching at least IBDP and/or A level or be willing to pursue fully-funded overseas training.
- Be dedicated and hardworking, maintaining high expectations for themselves and their students.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong sense of teamwork.
- Be capable of integrating ICT into their teaching methods.
- Possess a sense of humor, energy, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
