About This Role

Join our thriving, multicultural, and oversubscribed North London comprehensive as a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Sociology and Health & Social Care. As a large, vibrant Local Authority secondary school, we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos and our commitment to providing vocational excellence.

Sociology and Health & Social Care are popular subjects; Sociology achieves excellent results and is part of the thriving Social Sciences faculty. At KS4, the BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 in Health & Social Care is offered, which is followed at KS5 by the Cambridge Technical Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Many students progress to careers in related fields such as midwifery, nursing, and teaching.

We are looking for someone who can bring the curriculum to life with real-world context and academic rigour. We offer a well-ordered, exciting and supportive environment where each student is expected to achieve their potential.

Winchmore is an excellent environment in which to work, with outstanding opportunities for professional development. You would benefit from:

  • Supportive SLT and friendly colleagues

  • Enthusiastic students and a wide range of extracurricular activities

  • Excellent professional development opportunities and career progression

  • Outer London salary and staff wellbeing program

  • Opportunity to run after-school clubs

  • On-site Gym

The role:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across KS4 and KS5 (Level 2 and Level 3 vocational qualifications).

  • Foster an environment where students feel supported and encouraged.

  • Contribute to the development of innovative resources and curriculum planning.

  • Support students through internal assessments and external examinations with a focus on high achievement and "value-added" progress.

We reserve the right to interview and appoint any suitable candidates as applications are received.
