About This Role
Are you an ambitious and forward-thinking teacher looking to develop your expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? At Two Rivers High School, we are seeking to appoint a full-time teacher to join our dedicated team and further strengthen our outstanding provision. We are highly regarded across Staffordshire for the quality of our education and our specialist SEND outreach support.
As our outreach work continues to grow, we are expanding our teaching capacity within school to ensure both our pupils and partner schools continue to benefit from the highest standards of support.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and classroom cover across the school, ensuring continuity of learning for our students while supporting colleagues through planned release time and maternity leave cover. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across a range of contexts, contribute to whole-school improvement, and develop specialist expertise in SEND education.
Two Rivers High School is a generic special school based in Tamworth. We currently have 302 pupils with a variety of special needs. This is a very exciting time to be joining us on our journey, having retained our Ofsted “Outstanding” judgement for the 5th time in a row. We can offer a supportive environment with outstanding role models, smaller class sizes and the opportunity to be creative within the curriculum and lessons.

Salary:
Unqualified range: £23,732pa - £36,494pa
Main scale range: £34,069pa - £46,940pa
UPS range: £49,134pa - £52,835pa
SEN1: £2,787pa
Pay subject to experience and qualifications + 1 SEN point (Subject to Teachers' Terms and Conditions).

o Provide a stimulating environment, designing and delivering engaging, multi-sensory lessons that support regulation, communication, and cognitive development.
o Engage with pupils using creative approaches that promote independence and emotional wellbeing.
o Set challenging targets for all pupils, having high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, learning, motivation, and presentation of work.
o Support to help pupils to make progress, differentiating and utilising a range of specialised approaches (e.g. TEACCH, PECS, MAKATON, Intensive Interaction).
o Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and support staff to create consistent and responsive learning environments.
