Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School Special Education Teacher

Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School, located in Big River First Nation, is seeking a passionate and motivated Special Education Teacher to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement lesson plans across a variety of subjects
• Evaluate and grade students’ comprehension and performance
• Communicate with students and parents on educational issues
• Create a positive, inclusive, and secure learning environment that fosters education
• Design lesson plans and teaching strategies in accordance with school guidelines
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for growth
• Establish an engaging learning atmosphere tailored to the individual needs of each student
• Create and execute lesson plans and instructional materials by coordinating activities like quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
• Supervise and manage classroom behavior and activities

Requirements:
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills
• Excellent ability to manage tasks effectively
• Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
• Proficient classroom management skills
• Ability to instruct students with varied learning needs
• Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
• Experience in multicultural environments is a plus
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Capability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be able to provide proof of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
