Takanini School is seeking an energetic and effective principal | tumuaki to lead our school. With approximately 570β600 Δkonga learning together each day, our Year 0β8 school is a place where every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish.
At the heart of this role is a strong commitment to our learners. We are seeking a principal who will keep learner progress, achievement, and wellbeing at the centre of decision making, while making sure teaching and learning remain a clear priority.
The successful applicant will build on the good progress already made and bring credibility as an educational leader. They will understand effective classroom practice, lead learning with confidence and support high-quality teaching and professional growth across the school.
The role also requires someone who can lead the school well as an organisation. We are looking for a principal who can provide clear direction, strengthen systems and professional practice, communicate effectively, and make sure important work is followed through. They will be visible, approachable, culturally responsive, and able to build trust across the school. They will relate well to people, show empathy, and bring warmth and energy to the role.
