Primary Teacher with responsibility for SEN
About This Role
We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Primary Teacher (Enhanced Curriculum & KS3 Support) to become part of our exceptional team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).
This is a permanent, full-time position on Teaching terms MPS-UPS, commencing in September 2026. This role includes a TLR2.1, valued at £3,527.
We are seeking a candidate who possesses:
- A genuine passion and flexibility as a Primary-trained teacher, with experience or a strong interest in aiding learners at Key Stage 3.
- Confidence in delivering a comprehensive, multi-subject curriculum, particularly excelling in English and fostering reading and comprehension skills.
- A robust understanding of methods to enhance student achievement, especially for those with lower literacy levels.
- Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the capability to tailor teaching strategies to meet various needs.
- A proactive team player who can forge strong relationships with students, staff, and families to facilitate a successful transition from primary to secondary education.
- An organized and motivated individual ready to assume additional responsibilities related to SEN support and enhanced provision.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing high-quality instruction across various subjects within an enhanced curriculum framework, primarily for Key Stage 3 students (Year 7 and Year 8).
- Aiding students in their transition from primary to secondary education, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
- Focusing on raising student attainment, particularly in reading, comprehension, and fundamental learning skills.
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEN.
- Assuming additional responsibilities for supporting SEN provision within the enhanced curriculum group, collaborating closely with the SENCO and wider team.
- Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress, utilizing data to inform teaching and targeted interventions.
- Contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers all students to thrive.
