Learning Support Assistant
About This Role
Do you love being part of those early years when children are discovering who they are, building confidence and developing a lifelong love of learning?
Do you want to work in a school where every achievement matters, every child is known as an individual, and every day is full of opportunities to help young learners grow?
At Broadstone First School, we believe the foundations built in childhood last a lifetime. That’s why we’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children flourish during these important early years. Whether it’s celebrating a child’s first breakthrough in reading, helping them navigate a friendship, encouraging them to persevere when something feels difficult, or simply offering reassurance when they need it most, you’ll play an important role in their journey.
This is a role for someone who finds joy in the small moments that make a big difference. The smile when a child finally understands a new concept. The pride in mastering a new skill. The growing confidence that comes from knowing someone believes in them.

- Delivering planned learning activities that encourage independence, curiosity and confidence.
- Helping children develop socially, emotionally and academically in a safe and nurturing environment.

- Promoting children’s self-esteem, wellbeing and sense of belonging.
- Encouraging positive play, friendships and active engagement during breaktimes and lunchtimes.
- Monitoring progress and sharing observations to help ensure every child receives the support they need.
- Contributing to the warm, welcoming and inclusive life of the school community.
Who we’re looking for
- Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and helping them thrive.

- Positive and encouraging, bringing enthusiasm and energy to each day.
- A strong communicator who can build trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Calm and adaptable, able to support children through both successes and challenges.
- Committed to inclusion and ensuring every child feels they belong.
- A proactive team player who understands that the little things often make the biggest difference.
- Passionate about helping children become confident, independent learners who are excited about the future.
