About the Cleaning Team
Our Cleaning Team is made up of 15 dedicated colleagues who work across morning and afternoon shifts to maintain the high standards of cleanliness that our College community expects.
Working closely with the Cleaning Supervisor and Estates Team, you'll be part of a friendly team where collaboration, mutual support and a strong work ethic are highly valued. We recognise that every member of staff contributes to the College's success, and our cleaning colleagues are a valued and respected part of that achievement.
About the Role
As a Cleaning Assistant, you will help provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who studies, works and visits the College.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will carry out a range of cleaning duties across the campus to ensure our facilities remain well-presented and maintained to a high standard.
Your contribution will directly support the learning experience of our students and the wellbeing of the wider College community.
Training will be provided in the use of specialist cleaning equipment where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Areas will be allocated by the Cleaning Supervisor or Estates Team according to College priorities.
Your duties may include:
- Vacuum cleaning floors and carpets
- Dusting and cleaning surfaces
- Cleaning washrooms, toilets and sinks
- Washing and storing crockery where required
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Emptying waste and recycling bins
- Operating cleaning equipment and machinery following appropriate training
- Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards or concerns identified during your work
- Supporting colleagues to maintain high standards across the College
- Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably required

Essential

Desirable
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, educational or similar environment
- Experience using cleaning equipment or machinery (training will be provided)
