Class Teacher

About us and the role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join Krishna Avanti Primary School and deliver consistently high-quality teaching that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.

As a Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for the learning, progress, attainment and wellbeing of the pupils in your class, planning and delivering engaging, inclusive and appropriately differentiated lessons that meet a range of needs and abilities. You will use assessment and feedback effectively to monitor progress, identify next steps and ensure that pupils are supported and challenged to achieve their best.

You will create a safe, purposeful and positive classroom environment, building strong relationships with pupils and promoting high expectations, mutual respect, independence and positive behaviour. Working closely with colleagues, support staff and families, you will contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school and play an important role in supporting pupils’ personal development and wellbeing.

This role provides an opportunity to develop your teaching practice, share ideas and collaborate with colleagues, while making a meaningful and lasting contribution to the children and community at Krishna Avanti Primary School.

What will you do?

• Lead the learning, progress, attainment and wellbeing of all pupils in the class, ensuring high expectations, equality of opportunity and appropriate support for individual needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and well-differentiated teaching, using assessment, feedback and pupil data effectively to secure strong progress and outcomes.
• Create a safe, purposeful and respectful learning environment, promoting positive behaviour, independence, high standards and the safeguarding and welfare of every pupil.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, families, governors, the Avanti Schools Trust and external agencies to support pupils and contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Reflect on and develop professional practice through collaboration, training and performance management, while fulfilling all statutory, administrative and professional responsibilities expected of a teacher.

What are we looking for?

• Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant subject or allied subject
• QTS qualified
• Able to self-start, work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, whether led or leading
• Clear vision and understanding of how to implement and sustain a high-quality teaching and learning
• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
