We are currently in search of a 0.75 FTE School Nurse for our Morven Campus (Grades 8 - 12). The School Nurse is essential in promoting and safeguarding the health and well-being of students in Grades 8–12 by providing direct care, health education, and preventive services, while working closely with the Student Support Team to ensure coordinated care. This role acts as a dependable resource for students, staff, and families, balancing clinical care with advice and advocacy. The School Nurse will collaborate with another 0.75 FTE School Nurse within the campus health centre and will be employed during the academic year (when classes are in session). This is a permanent position, requiring 30 hours of work per week, starting August 28, 2026.

Key responsibilities include:

- Evaluating, addressing, and managing both urgent and non-urgent health concerns.
- Offering guidance and counseling to students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding mental and physical health issues.
- Educating on current health trends, communicable diseases, wellness practices, and preventive strategies to promote long-term health.
- Maintaining and reviewing medical records to ensure accurate health documentation for students and staff.
- Participating in weekly Student of Concern meetings and contributing to the Health and Safety Committee discussions.
- Executing nursing procedures within the licensed scope of practice while adhering to established policies and guidelines.

Required qualifications:

- Current BCCNP registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid Basic Life Support (HCP) Certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric or acute care environment; OFA 2 or 3 Certification is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
- Discretion in managing sensitive and confidential information pertaining to students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and Canadian residency.
