About This Role

The British College of Gava, an IB World School located just 20 minutes from Barcelona, is looking to hire an Upper Primary School teacher to enhance its expanding KS2 division.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing, purpose-built institution with outstanding facilities in a prime location. We are in search of a full-time Primary teacher to join our established Primary School team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic primary educator with a solid understanding of Upper Primary education and a creative approach to make learning engaging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in accordance with the UK National Curriculum and local guidelines.
  • Plan, provide feedback, and teach following school and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare and implement schemes of work in alignment with school policies.
  • Stay informed on the National Curriculum and related documents.
  • Maintain records of student progress, including all statutory documentation required by the UK DFE.
  • Generate reports and grades for students as outlined in the school calendar.
  • Conduct termly meetings with parents to discuss their child's performance and progress.
  • Create and sustain an attractive and stimulating environment that promotes effective teaching and learning.
  • Monitor class work progress and effectiveness, adjusting planning and teaching as needed.
  • Differentiating instruction based on student needs.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Essential:

  • UK-trained with qualified teacher status
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Native-level English proficiency

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification
  • Right to work in the EU
  • Experience teaching using Pie Corbett's ‘Talk 4 Writing’
