Please note: This role is part-time, working 12.5 hours per week, as part of a job share arrangement working PM hours only (12:30pm–3:00pm).
Salary: Grade 3, £25,117 - £26,216 per annum, pro rata . Approximately £6,696 - £6,989 per annum (0.26657 FTE)
About us and the role
Join Avanti Fields School as a Learning Coach and help support pupils to thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide support to pupils individually, in small groups, and within the classroom. This will include assisting pupils with SEND and those with English as an Additional Language (EAL) to help them access learning and make good progress.
In this role, you will build positive relationships with pupils, support lesson delivery, and help implement strategies that promote learning, positive behaviour, and wellbeing. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school through activities such as classroom displays, school events, and trips.
This role is ideal for someone who is committed to supporting children and helping them reach their full potential in a supportive school environment.
What will you do?
- Provide individual, small group and classroom support to pupils to help them access learning and achieve positive outcomes.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver lessons, lead targeted interventions and adapt support to meet pupils’ individual needs.
- Support pupils with SEND and those with English as an additional language to ensure inclusive participation and progress.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and social development while building supportive relationships with pupils and families.
- Maintain safeguarding and pastoral responsibilities, reporting concerns, supporting wellbeing, and actively contributing to the wider life of the school, including trips, events, and classroom displays.
What are we looking for?
- Evidence of strong communication skills; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Excellent level of literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to provide necessary first aid, medical and intimate care to children or undertake training successfully
- An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
