Teacher of Mathematics
About This Role
Houlton School presents an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Mathematics to join our thriving institution. You will be part of a dedicated team of educators and support staff who are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for every student.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled educator capable of inspiring, motivating, challenging, and supporting students to achieve outstanding progress. We invite applications from teachers who can teach Mathematics at KS3/4, and preferably also at KS5.
Regardless of your level of experience, you will join a passionate group of educators focused on delivering Mathematics in engaging and impactful ways. For those with suitable experience, there may be an opportunity to assume additional responsibilities in the form of a TLR or as a Lead Practitioner. However, this is not a requirement; we welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and those not seeking additional responsibilities, as well as from more experienced professionals.
At Houlton School, we prioritize making sure all staff feel valued, heard, and well-guided, with ample opportunities for professional growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for teaching who will inspire and engage their students.
Why choose to work at Houlton?
- A nurturing school situated on a 20-acre green-field campus, small enough to know each student’s name and story while being large enough to offer a wide-ranging curriculum, including our new Sixth Form set to launch in September 2026.
- You will join a community of dedicated colleagues who actively support one another.
- Our staff well-being team implements various initiatives to enhance staff engagement, including activities, events, conferences, and numerous other benefits.
- Excellent opportunities for professional development and growth within the expanding Transforming Lives Educational Trust, a multi-academy trust rooted in the local community.
At Houlton School, we hold our students to the highest standards: excellence in behavior and attitudes is expected, and students are encouraged to always strive for their best. We support our pupils in embodying our values and provide them with the finest teachers, facilities, and opportunities to develop their talents.
We are privileged to occupy an exceptional campus, including Grade II listed buildings that previously housed the Rugby International Radio Station. While some established schools may receive improved facilities in a couple of specialist areas, our pupils benefit from state-of-the-art facilities alongside beautiful heritage buildings throughout the entire curriculum.
