Ossett Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of History to join our successful Humanities Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner who is dedicated to inspiring pupils through the study of History and contributing to a culture of high achievement and academic excellence.
The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge, a commitment to delivering engaging and challenging lessons, and the ability to motivate pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential. They will be passionate about History and capable of bringing the subject to life through creative and innovative teaching that inspires curiosity, critical thinking and a genuine appreciation of the past. The postholder will demonstrate high expectations, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to raising achievement and outcomes for all pupils.

About You
The successful candidate will be…
- A qualified teacher holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
- Passionate about bringing history to life and inspiring a curiosity about the past, enabling pupils to develop a deeper understanding of historical events, themes, and their relevance to the modern world.
- Experienced in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of key stages, with the ability to engage, challenge, and motivate learners of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
- Knowledgeable about the History curriculum and assessment requirements, with the ability to plan and deliver stimulating lessons.
- Committed to promoting high expectations, inclusion, and a love of learning, while supporting the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, trips, and extracurricular opportunities.
