About This Role

The Role

We are seeking a talented classroom practitioner who will significantly impact student learning and contribute positively to our school culture. The ideal candidate will create engaging learning experiences that honor student individuality, stimulate critical thinking, and cultivate essential skills necessary for success in a rapidly evolving world.

As our Secondary School expands to Year 8, we invite applications from those who are excited about the opportunity to develop and implement the Key Stage 3 English curriculum alongside our current English specialist. A passion for this educational phase is crucial, and we also seek individuals eager to help us navigate the upcoming examination cycles.

At DBSJ, we hold the belief that exceptional teaching is founded on empathy, informed by evidence, and fueled by community engagement. Our teachers serve as collaborators, architects of the curriculum, and builders of a positive school culture.

  • Advocate for the school's belief that education is complex, dynamic, and deserving of inquiry.
  • Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning, both personally and for others.

Our Professional Commitments

At DBSJ, we recognize that your identity as an educator is just as important as the content you deliver. Our teachers align with four fundamental beliefs:

  • All students are capable of success.
  • Our community is of utmost importance.
  • High-performing teams operate with integrity, care, and professionalism.
  • Education is a multifaceted and ever-evolving landscape.

These principles underpin our professional accountability, encouraging staff to evolve from passive compliance to proactive, culture-enhancing professional behaviors. We are a school that values curiosity, vulnerability, high standards, and the ability to grow alongside our students.
