About This Role

About us

Doha College is recognized as one of the premier British International Schools worldwide. As a proud not-for-profit institution, we are listed among the top one hundred private schools globally in both the esteemed Spear’s School Index and the Carfax Index, being the only representative from Qatar in these rankings. Our students consistently achieve outstanding results at (I)GCSE and A-Level, ranking among the best globally for schools of our kind.

We provide our teaching staff with one of the most attractive compensation packages in the Middle East, which includes a high tax-free salary, an accommodation allowance that covers high-quality living arrangements in sought-after expatriate communities, medical insurance, school fee assistance (75% coverage for up to three children), annual flights, a generous settling-in allowance, and an end-of-service gratuity.

Our dedication to your career growth is matched by our focus on your well-being, featuring an innovative instructional coaching program aimed at helping all teachers, regardless of their experience level, continue their professional development. We also offer a thorough induction and orientation program to help new staff acclimate to the challenges of relocating internationally. Our on-site crèche for primary-aged children supports working parents, and staff representation on the Board of Governors allows you to influence the school’s future strategic direction.

Most importantly, you will enjoy collaborating with our dynamic international student community, where our innovative approach encourages everyone at the College to share ideas and embrace new experiences.

If you are eager to join a motivated team that prioritizes your personal and professional development, and if you embody a commitment to the highest standards, positivity, kindness, and warmth, we look forward to receiving your application.

The opportunity

We are looking for a passionate Secondary Music Teacher to join our growing Music Department. In this role, you will teach students from KS3 to KS5, igniting their enthusiasm for all music genres both in classroom settings and through co-curricular activities.

As a member of our academic music team, you will work in conjunction with the Director and Assistant Director of Music to promote music across the College. The ideal candidate will inspire students, conduct engaging lessons, effectively utilize resources, and maintain high standards of learning and achievement.

Our inclusive and high-achieving department hosts exciting events such as the National Battle of the Bands and Qatar School Choir of the Year, and participates in prestigious competitions including Young Musician of the Gulf and the COBIS Music Festival. With a team of six instrumental specialists, we offer an extensive calendar filled with concerts, recitals, and productions throughout the academic year.

This position is ideal for a creative, forward-thinking, and committed team player who is excited to join a vibrant department.

About you

The successful applicant must possess a Music Degree (BMus, B.Ed. (Music), BA) and a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, iQTS); applications lacking these credentials will not be considered.

You should be a driven professional with a genuine love for music, strong subject knowledge, and a proven record of fostering academic success and enhancing student achievement. Proficiency in keyboard skills for accompanying choirs and ensembles is preferred. At Doha College, we value leadership at all levels and encourage candidates who are eager to advance their leadership journey, aligning with our vision of "Excellence for all, excellence from all."

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills are essential, along with the capability to lead various co-curricular ensembles.
