About This Role

The Role
The School Counsellor will collaborate closely with students, educators, and parents to recognize and tackle the challenges students face, ranging from mental health concerns to academic stress and social interactions, following best practices both in the UK and globally. This position involves providing one-on-one counselling sessions, facilitating group workshops, and implementing targeted programs to assist students in building resilience, mastering effective coping techniques, and enhancing their interpersonal skills. With a comprehensive understanding of the specific pressures that international students encounter, counsellors play a vital role in nurturing a supportive school environment that prioritizes empathy, diversity, and personal development.

This position will also contribute to the safeguarding and enhancement of the mental and emotional well-being of the school community. Responsibilities will include maintaining thorough records of counselling sessions, coordinating with external agencies and professionals, and engaging in regular supervision and professional development activities.

The School Counsellor must be fully aligned with the core values of the school, show a dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, and work in partnership with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Remuneration
The selected candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits in line with their experience. These benefits include:
- A competitive salary.
- On-site accommodation for the first year of the contract if recruited from abroad, with the option to transition to off-site housing and receive a housing allowance starting from the second year.
- Flights at the beginning and end of the contract for the candidate, their spouse, and children.
- An annual flight allowance for the candidate's spouse and children.
- Medical insurance covering the candidate, their spouse, and children.
- Full tuition fee coverage for up to two children, or three for teaching couples, with a 50% contribution for additional children.
- A gratuity at the end of the contract.
