Job Overview: Established in 2015, Anne Hill International is committed to providing international education for students aged 2 to 13, with plans to expand into secondary education soon. Our mission is to deliver high-quality and accessible international education, while our vision aims to cultivate well-rounded, globally conscious, lifelong learners. Currently, we serve approximately 350 students from 30 different countries, supported by a dedicated team of 30 teachers from diverse backgrounds. Learning & Teaching Assistants are vital in enhancing educational experiences. We proudly hold membership in the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Primary Homeroom Teacher, you will be responsible for the academic development and pastoral care of your students, aligning with the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies. Your professional duties will encompass teaching Reading, English, Maths, and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), along with the following:

1. Establish high expectations that inspire and motivate students.

• Create a classroom environment that is positive, secure, and stimulating, encouraging students to take risks in their learning and build their confidence.

• Design lessons with clear objectives that foster active participation, independence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary connections.

• Maintain high standards consistently through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Promote continuous progress and outcomes for every student.

• Understand students' needs to customize learning experiences, utilizing curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to facilitate growth.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and conscientiousness in independent work and study.

3. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of subject matter and curriculum.

• Develop learning experiences that reinforce concepts, spark interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously improve your professional skills through ongoing development, applying them in the classroom with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.

• Create and implement engaging lessons tailored to diverse student needs, with clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies for promoting progress.

• Build positive relationships in the classroom and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, student-centered approach that supports both learning and wellbeing.

5. Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of students.

• Collaborate with students to set clear, purposeful goals and modify lessons to address individual needs through various strategies, including differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Use assessment, feedback, and reflection to inform teaching, support progress, and foster an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and challenged.

6. Employ assessment effectively and productively.

• Regularly assess student learning through various methods, providing clear feedback that encourages improvement and growth.

• Consistently leverage assessment data to inform teaching practices, guiding planning to ensure every student reaches their potential.

7. Ensure the quality of educational provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, providing clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and utilize resources tailored to student needs while involving support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time effectively and conduct academic reporting thoroughly through updates, reports, and parent meetings to accurately reflect student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Primary Education or PGCE (including Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent).

• Three years of experience as a homeroom teacher (desirable, but not essential).

• A proven track record of supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
