Key Stage 2 Teacher (August start)
About This Role
The Position
As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest levels of achievement for the year group, subjects, and students you instruct. This is achieved through outstanding teaching, diligent monitoring, evaluation, and review of learning progress and teaching outcomes, alongside establishing targets for enhancement. Each year group functions as a cohesive unit, ensuring that all students are given equal opportunities and that all Class Teachers feel supported within a robust team. The curriculum will be further enriched by a variety of subject-specialist teachers.
Key Stage 2 teachers will be responsible for both the academic and pastoral growth of the students in their classes. They will instruct in wellbeing, English, and maths, participate in Games sessions twice a week, and support school sports events. In Years 3 and 4, class teachers will also teach Humanities, Science, Art, and Drama. In Years 5 and 6, teachers will focus on a subject in which they have specialized interest and expertise (in either Art, Drama, or Humanities) across the year group.
The Teacher must fully embrace the core values of DBS and recognize how academic learning, pastoral support, and co-curricular activities are equally significant. The Teacher will report to their Head of Section.
