DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Associate Vice-President of Academic Quality and Excellence, the Learning Innovations Specialist is essential in supporting faculty members through the strategic integration of learning technologies to enhance teaching and learning within both campus-based and community programs. This role provides expertise in digital tools and emerging technologies, collaborating with IT to assess the compatibility and functionality of various learning platforms. Additionally, the specialist will lead institutional initiatives focused on AI, Augmented Reality (AR), and digital learning, aligning with AQE priorities aimed at academic improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with demonstrated experience in the application of learning technologies; a combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Acquaintance with a broad range of learning platforms and digital tools (including software, AI applications, and AR/VR technologies).
- Ability to evaluate pedagogical and technical compatibility and identify suitable applications in a post-secondary setting.
- A commitment to continuous professional development to remain informed about educational technologies, digital pedagogy, and current trends.
- Skills to assist faculty in the adoption and integration of learning technologies within their courses.
- Proficiency in identifying gaps, anticipating challenges, and contributing to the development of a comprehensive technology ecosystem.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective presentation and facilitation capabilities.
- Good time management abilities.
- A commitment to lifelong learning.

ASSETS:
- A Master’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area, with relevant experience in the use of learning technologies.
- Understanding of the northern Manitoba context, including matters related to digital equity.
- Awareness and appreciation of Indigenous cultures.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s license is necessary, as travel will be required.
- Willingness to work evenings is expected.
