Assistant Principal (Primary)
About This Role
GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking a talented Assistant Principal to become part of the Primary leadership team and oversee English instruction throughout the primary school, commencing in August 2026.
As the Primary Assistant Principal, you will be responsible for embodying the school's vision, core values, mission, objectives, and policies. Your primary aim will be to cultivate strong leadership and management practices within the school, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, curriculum design, student achievement, and pastoral care within the primary team.
The Assistant Principal will have the following key responsibilities:
•
Engaging actively in the school's strategic planning and self-evaluation processes.
•
Leading, developing, and managing all facets of teaching and learning, curriculum development, target-setting, assessment, tracking, recording, and reporting for the primary team.
•
Contributing significantly to curriculum development for the primary team in collaboration with senior and middle leaders, as well as all teaching staff.
•
Collaborating with senior leadership team members to guide target-setting, assessment, and data tracking within the primary team.
•
Taking responsibility for the standards of attainment, progress, achievement, and behavior within the primary team, while monitoring and evaluating progress in these areas and identifying further actions for improvement.
•
Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and Supplement, along with the UAE Vision 2021 and National Agenda, to bolster leadership and management within the primary team.
Required Skills:

A Bachelor's degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
•
An accredited leadership qualification or current enrollment in a leadership development program.
•
Proven experience in leading change and encouraging innovation.
•
A strong commitment to upholding and promoting the school's vision, values, and ethos.
•
Evidence of continual professional development and personal growth.
•
Demonstrated innovation leading to improved standards and heightened motivation for both students and staff.
•
Knowledge of competency-led curriculum frameworks.
