The Position
The Assistant Head of Secondary School - IBDP is a vital leadership role focused on ensuring the effective implementation and expansion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at the school. This position manages curriculum development, adherence to regulations, and student support while ensuring alignment with IB standards and fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for students and staff. By leading the Sixth Form Heads of Year and the IBDP Core Team, the Assistant Head plays an essential role in encouraging academic excellence, personal growth, and student wellbeing throughout the Sixth Form, ensuring that students are adequately prepared for university and their future endeavors.
As part of the Secondary School Leadership Team, the Assistant Head of Secondary School - IBDP will also drive strategic initiatives, participate in comprehensive school decision-making, and facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty. This position maintains a direct connection with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to keep up with changes to IB standards and practices. Through collaboration with departments, parents, and students, the Assistant Head cultivates a cohesive and supportive community while enhancing the visibility and understanding of the IBDP within the school.
