Position Overview

ULIS is in search of a dynamic and experienced IB Mathematics & IB Economics Teacher to become part of the Secondary School team. The ideal candidate nurtures meaningful connections with students, embraces inquiry-based and concept-driven teaching, and is dedicated to delivering exceptional international education within a diverse, multicultural setting.

This position involves teaching IB DP Mathematics (AA SL, AI SL, or AA HL) and IB DP Economics (IB2), providing Internal Assessment support, exam preparation, and may include additional teaching responsibilities across Middle or High School levels based on scheduling needs.

Key responsibilities

Teaching & Learning


Deliver captivating, high-quality lessons in IB Mathematics and IB Economics utilizing inquiry-based, concept-driven, and constructivist methodologies.


Offer structured assistance for IB Economics Internal Assessments (commentaries) and focused exam preparation.


Design, develop, and enhance curriculum materials that incorporate global perspectives and align with IB standards.


Employ a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within a multicultural student population.


Integrate technology effectively into lessons to promote personalized and enriched learning experiences.

Assessment & Feedback


Create and execute formative and summative assessments that adhere to IB criteria.


Monitor student progress and contribute to academic tracking and intervention systems.


Deliver timely, clear, and constructive feedback to students and families through school platforms like ManageBac.


Participate in the processes for predicted grades and examination preparation strategies.

Classroom Culture & Pastoral Care


Establish a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes a love for learning and honors diversity.


Serve as a mentor or tutor, aiding students’ academic and personal growth.


Commit to ULIS's dedication to safeguarding, child protection, and ethical conduct.

Collaboration & Professional Growth


Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and interdisciplinary educational experience.


Engage in schoolwide initiatives, committees, and co-curricular activities.


Commit to ongoing professional development to remain informed about IB standards and best practices in Mathematics and Economics education.

Required Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, or a closely related discipline.


Recognized teaching certification.


Demonstrated experience teaching IB Mathematics and/or IB Economics; experience in both subjects is preferred.


Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.


Proficient in English (the instructional language at ULIS).


Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to curriculum development and student intervention support.

Compensation
