About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College, The British School of Madrid (Soto de Viñuelas) is in search of an innovative and dedicated Media – Residential Monitor to enhance student wellbeing while generating and sharing daily media content throughout the Summer Camp program, which runs from 25 June to 25 July.

The individual will report directly to the Residential Director and will be responsible for supervising students on a rotational residential schedule, engaging fully in camp activities, and creating high-quality photographs, videos, and digital content to provide daily updates to parents and produce materials for marketing and end-of-session highlights. This position demands a strong commitment to safeguarding, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Oversee student supervision on a 24/7 residential schedule, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and compliance with camp protocols.

• Offer pastoral care while ensuring students are never left unsupervised, including during off-site activities.

• Capture high-quality photos and videos of daily events, activities, and student experiences.

• Create and upload daily media updates for parents on the camp platform.

• Edit, organize, and archive media files for future use and marketing initiatives.

• Develop end-of-session highlight videos that showcase camp experiences.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to supply appropriate content for social media and communications.

• Engage in evening activities and assist with broader camp operations as needed.

• Accompany students on excursions, adhering to all safety and safeguarding guidelines.

• Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.

• Consistently follow school policies, staff handbook protocols, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures.

• Provide support to non-residential monitors during daytime activities when necessary.

• Keep residential and activity areas clean and organized.

• Take on additional reasonable responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the Summer Camp.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Proficiency in English at a C1 level.

• At least 1 year of experience in summer camps or youth programs (preferred).

• Experience in living or working in residential settings.

• Capability to supervise children on a 24/7 rotational basis.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Experience in content creation, photography, videography, editing, and social media management.

• Aptitude for producing daily media content for parental and marketing purposes.

• Experience in organizing and maintaining digital media archives.

• Skill in creating end-of-session videos.

• Willingness to engage in evening activities and excursions.

• Relevant background in media or communications, ideally with some formal training.

Compensation

420 € - 423 € per week (423.36 EUR per week / 40 hrs per week Accommodation, meals and insurance included)
