About This Role

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for delivering PE courses while adhering to the teaching standards and regulatory frameworks established by school administration.

2. Provide documented lesson planning on a termly, half-termly, and weekly basis to cater to the needs of students.

3. Organize school basketball, football, swimming, and other sports teams in alignment with the school's requirements; conduct team training sessions and lead teams in relevant competitions.

4. Be prepared to tailor teaching strategies based on students’ age and skill level, instruct students according to their individual aptitudes, and offer patient guidance to foster exploration.

5. Assign homework to students in accordance with school policy.

6. Monitor classroom behavior, student relationships, and social development.

7. Assist with After-School Clubs (shared responsibility).

8. Engage in the Personal Development programme organized or endorsed by the School.

9. Communicate with parents regarding students’ learning progress and development in line with school policy.

10. Foster positive connections and effectively promote the facility within the local and broader community.

11. Actively participate in the School’s Pastoral Care system, which includes serving as a pastoral tutor (a role expected of all teachers).

12. Support the Admissions team by providing prospective families with information about the School and offering guidance, support, and reassurance.

13. Represent and advocate for the School at local events as needed.

14. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Section or school management.

Skills and Experience Requirements

1. A bachelor's degree or higher in physical education or a related field.

2. Proven experience in organizing and coaching youth teams in basketball, football, and various other sports, including group training and competitions.

3. Over 5 years of teaching experience, accompanied by a relevant subject Teacher Certificate.

4. Familiarity with the physical education curriculum in international schools and a strong knowledge and skills base.

5. Preferably, experience studying abroad and/or working in an international school in China.

6. Proficient in English in terms of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
