About This Role

To fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher as needed and in alignment with the school's policies under the guidance of the Principal.

1. Pedagogy
Utilizing effective teaching strategies that foster successful learning and personal excellence among students by:
· Establishing relationships that prioritize learning
· Empowering students to become or prepare to be self-directed learners
· Using assessment data to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
· Employing suitable assessment instruments for both formative and summative evaluations
· Delivering constructive feedback to students
· Encouraging students to reflect on their learning experiences
· Involving students actively in shaping their educational journey
· Engaging parents in their children's learning through consistent communication.

2. Curriculum
· Showcasing extensive knowledge of the relevant curriculum
· Integrating critical thinking and reflective skills into the curriculum framework
· Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress while attending Parents’ Meetings to discuss individual student achievements
· Teaching assigned classes, including supervising classes during staff absences
· Collaborating with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and progression
· Preparing students for internal and external examinations and actively participating in their administration
· Setting appropriate individual goals for students in line with school and departmental standards
· Participating in professional development training, including INSET days at the start of each term
· Advocating for and engaging in personal continuous professional growth
· Maintaining a disciplined environment conducive to learning while respecting student health and safety.

· Taking responsibility for the overall performance of teaching groups under the ‘Every Child Matters’ framework:
- Promoting student safety and health
- Encouraging enjoyment of the subject matter
- Motivating students to contribute positively in lessons and achieve economic well-being
- Addressing student or parental concerns
· Actively participating in teacher development and learning
· Persistently seeking to enhance teaching and learning methodologies
· Cultivating knowledge and skills pertinent to secondary education
· Engaging in the school's appraisal processes
· Ensuring a supportive and orderly environment:
· Supporting the school’s positive policies and fostering respect for all individuals
· Organizing resources and the classroom setting to optimize learning conditions.

3. Co-curricular Activities:
· Participating in Co-curricular or Extra-Curricular Activities to enrich the school experience for learners
· Engaging in residential excursions as needed
· Fulfilling assigned duties as required.

4. Other Projects, Duties, and Responsibilities:
· Maintaining awareness of teachers' professional responsibilities and legal obligations
· Adhering to the school’s established policies and practices at all times
· Building effective and suitable relationships with colleagues and parents
· Leading by example through professional presentation and conduct
· Collaborating with staff to ensure efficient resource sharing for the benefit of the school and its students
· Contributing to the overall life of the school by actively participating in meetings and management systems essential for school coordination
· Engaging in marketing and liaison activities, including Open Days and stakeholder events
· Completing any other reasonable tasks assigned by a manager that align with the level of this role.

Job Specification
This section outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

Years of Experience
· A minimum of five years of relevant teaching experience, preferably within an international school context.
· Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is highly advantageous.

Education
· At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education/Teaching or an equivalent qualification recognized by SSG/MOE in Singapore
· A higher degree or recognized professional qualification is preferred.

· Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Demonstrate strong administrative and organizational abilities.

· Be proficient in MS Office applications.

Language Abilities
· Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Knowledge of the local language is an advantage.

Professional Qualifications / Job License
· A PGDE and/or PGCE is preferred.
· Ideally possess a Teacher’s License (NIE certification).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
