Salary: Scale E, point 8 – 11, £14.36 – £15.06 per hour

(£27,709 - £29,071 pa FTE based on a 37 hour per week0

Please note that the salary will be pro rata approx £8,336 - £8,746 pro rata

Hours: 13 hours/week, 39 weeks/year (Term Time +1)

Purpose of the Job


The purpose of this role is to provide support for the learning, wellbeing and safety of our youngest children in Preschool. This role forms part of our EYFS provision.


Responsibilities, but not linited too:


· Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff and within the overall ethos of the school, undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support children, including more specialised support for those with special education needs

· Enable access to learning for pupils aged 2, 3 and 4 years old and plan, prepare and deliver provision with your team each day

· Maintain a safe environment - with all areas compliant with the Statutory Framework for EYFS

· Be the room leader and supervise others, including mentoring students

· Work directly with children, families and other professionals

· Record progress and achievement of children regularly and ensure these are updated

· Manage staff on a day-day basis and carrying out appraisals and target setting as well as promoting high level evidenced based early years practice

· Lead in ensuring that all paperwork and record keeping meet the required standard

· To act as a Designated Safeguard lead and follow guidance from school safeguard policies so children are happy, safe and cared for

· To support Preschool staff to deliver the EYFS curriculum to a high standard

· To promote inclusion and work in partnership with the parents for funding, child development, learning and behaviour

· To uphold confidentiality at all times

· To adhere to school policies and procedures and demonstrate good written and verbal skills
