About This Role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and committed Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional learning needs and specialist medical needs, helping them to access learning, feel safe and develop confidence.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has proven experience of supporting pupils with SEND using calm, consistent and nurturing approaches.
  • Has the skills to support a child with specialist medical needs, following their individual healthcare plan and agreed procedures, and is willing to undertake the specific training required to provide safe, confident support.
  • Demonstrates patience, understanding and flexibility, adapting their approach to the child’s needs, pace of learning and readiness to engage.
  • Understands adaptive teaching and can work with the class teacher to prepare resources and adapt teaching materials and activities so that learning is accessible, meaningful and appropriately challenging.
  • Can support a child’s emotional wellbeing using reassuring, nurturing approaches to help them feel secure, manage their emotions and build positive relationships.
  • Is confident in delivering structured 1:1 support and, where appropriate, small group interventions to support academic, social and emotional development.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, responding positively to guidance from the class teacher, SENDCo and relevant professionals, while using their own initiative appropriately.
  • Can observe, record and report on the child’s progress, wellbeing and needs, maintaining accurate records and sharing concerns promptly.
  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals, treating sensitive information confidentially.
  • Shows resilience and a commitment to promoting the child’s dignity, inclusion and growing independence.
  • Is flexible, reflective and willing to contribute fully to the wider life and ethos of our inclusive church school community.

Compensation

£30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS Scale)
