About This Role

As a Class Teacher, your role will involve:

  • Maintaining a high level of teaching excellence and professionalism.
  • Creating a stimulating classroom atmosphere that promotes active learning both inside and outside.
  • Recognizing and honoring each child's social, cultural, and religious background while demonstrating respect and tolerance.
  • Assisting in the management of students' pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior, particularly for those in your assigned class.
  • Conducting lessons in accordance with the school's policies and guidelines.
  • Utilizing a range of effective teaching and nurturing strategies to ensure quality learning that aligns with EtonHouse's 'Inquire-Think-Learn' philosophy and professional standards.
  • Providing planning documents that detail specific learning goals, differentiated tasks, additional needs, extensions, and assessments to the Principal or designated authority.
  • Engaging in professional conversations with colleagues about students while upholding confidentiality regarding all information.
  • Promoting equal opportunities for all students and celebrating diversity in line with KSA Ministry of Education directives.
  • Inspiring students to take pride in their surroundings and nurturing respect and concern for others, thus contributing to a supportive school community.
  • Managing all aspects of classroom organization, including equipment maintenance and ensuring a tidy, accessible learning environment.
  • Crafting an inviting and thoughtfully organized classroom that encourages independent learning, incorporating stimuli that reflect each child's interests, developmental level, and ongoing inquiries.
  • Tracking and documenting literacy, numeracy, and other developmental progress as per the school's literacy and numeracy programs.
  • Collaborating with the Principal and fellow staff to establish effective student assessment procedures and portfolios, keeping accurate records of achievements, learning journals for each child, and preparing necessary reports.
  • Acknowledging the significance of documentation in our program and celebrating the learning journey over final results throughout the school.
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents, both formally and informally, through various channels such as newsletters, daily updates, arrival and dismissal notifications, reports, and journals.
  • Fostering positive and effective relationships with the parents of your students.
  • Participating in school events and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Guiding, motivating, and overseeing support teachers in their roles.
  • Assisting in the collaborative planning of additional workshops, holiday camps, and events.

As a Team Member, you will:

  • Collaborate with staff during both short- and long-term planning meetings.
  • Share responsibility for displays and shared learning spaces throughout the school.
  • Actively participate in school committees, sharing your skills and talents while fostering team development.
  • Lead year group meetings and collaborative planning/professional development sessions.
  • Remain receptive to new ideas and contribute to the school’s future initiatives.
  • Engage in appraisal processes and in-service training that support your personal, professional, and career growth, as well as that of your associate teachers.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood education.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University or College, requiring at least 3 years of full-time study.
  • Teaching Certificates, Diplomas, or other Teacher Accreditation courses and certifications are required if the applicant does not hold a degree in Education.
  • Familiarity with the IB PYP and/or the Reggio Emilia approach, along with relevant training, is highly regarded.
  • A readiness to learn about inquiry-based learning is essential.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
