What will your daily responsibilities include?
As the chosen candidate, you will:
- Develop and implement a top-notch Physical and Health Education program that aligns with IB MYP standards and senior school pathways.
- Nurture a culture of physical literacy, teamwork, resilience, and overall wellbeing throughout the school.
- Supervise and enhance co-curricular sports, which encompass inter-house competitions, extracurricular clubs, and inter-school events.
- Ensure high standards in teaching and learning through coaching, observation, and professional development for staff.
- Design and execute a cohesive, inquiry-based curriculum along with effective assessment practices.
- Utilize data effectively to monitor student progress, participation, and wellbeing.
- Maintain safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environments while adhering to strong safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
- Lead departmental planning, evaluation, and enhancements in alignment with the school's overarching objectives.
- Manage staffing, resources, facilities, and departmental budgets efficiently.
- Promote collaboration within the department and across the wider school community.
- Cultivate strong relationships with students, parents, and external partners to enhance sporting and wellbeing opportunities.
- Support whole-school initiatives, including wellbeing programs, outdoor education, and student leadership in sports.
What qualifications and experience should you possess?
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP).
- Significant experience with IGCSE.
- Proven leadership experience or the ability to effectively manage and nurture a team.
- A solid understanding of sports science, coaching methodologies, and student-centered teaching approaches.
- Experience in organizing and leading sports programs, competitions, and co-curricular activities.
- A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, complemented by a recognized teaching qualification.
- Preferred experience in international or diverse educational environments.
- The capability to analyze data and utilize it for strategic decision-making.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
