The British College of Gava, an IB World School located just 20 minutes from Barcelona, is seeking to hire an outstanding full-time Humanities teacher to join our growing Secondary school starting August 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, deliver, and assess class or subject-specific activities that enhance student learning opportunities.
  • Plan lessons by set deadlines in the specified formats and ensure that copies of the planning are accessible to concerned parties.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and share this with colleagues when appropriate.
  • Create a stimulating and organized classroom environment where time and resources are utilized effectively.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on students' work.
  • Engage students in the target-setting process.
  • Assign homework that reinforces and extends classroom learning tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote good behavior among students and foster positive attitudes towards peers, adults, school property, and academic work.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and ensure that up-to-date records are transferred when students change classes or schools.
  • Build and sustain a strong home-school partnership; keep parents informed about their children's progress, achievements, and attitudes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative whole-school approach.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential:

  • UK-trained with qualified teacher status
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Native level English speaker
  • Secondary school teaching experience in Humanities

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with IB programmes
  • Master’s or postgraduate qualification
  • Right to work in the EU
