About This Role

KGA Brune Park is seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Design Technology Teacher to join our School at an exciting time of growth and development. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on a maternity cover basis, becoming part of a dedicated team and playing a key role in delivering high-quality Design Technology teaching.

You will inspire pupils to develop their creativity, technical skills and problem-solving abilities, supporting them to achieve their full potential. Working closely with school leaders and colleagues, you will plan and deliver engaging, challenging and practical lessons that develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Design Technology.

You will create a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment where pupils are encouraged to be creative, experiment with ideas and develop confidence in their practical skills. You will have high expectations of all pupils and use effective assessment and feedback to monitor progress and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs.

You will support pupils in developing a broad range of skills, including designing, making, evaluating and applying technical knowledge to real-world contexts. You will also contribute to the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice and continually improve the learning experience for pupils.

You will be committed to promoting pupil wellbeing, inclusion and a love of learning, while upholding the Trust’s values of Honesty, Faith and Courage in your daily work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and committed teacher to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people during this period of maternity cover, while further developing your own practice within a supportive and forward-thinking Trust.

About you

You are a passionate and reflective Design Technology teacher with strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring young people. You are able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop pupils’ creativity, technical understanding and practical skills, while challenging and supporting learners of all abilities.

You understand the importance of creating an inclusive classroom and workshop environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and confident to develop their skills. You will be committed to maintaining high standards of behaviour and safety, particularly within practical learning environments, and will encourage pupils to take pride in their work.

You are a strong team player who builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families, and who is willing to contribute to the wider school community. You are resilient, adaptable and committed to your own professional development and to keeping your subject knowledge and practice up to date.

Above all, you are motivated by a belief in the power of education to transform lives and are passionate about giving pupils the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed.
