Design Technology Teacher - Engineering
About This Role
Design Technology Teacher – Engineering
Start: August 2025
We are in search of a motivated and creative Design Technology teacher, preferably with an engineering background or a strong interest in mechatronics, to join our Technology and Arts Department.
Our school is currently engaged in an exciting innovation program. For instance, last year, our Year 9 students constructed four solar-powered go-karts and unofficially set a speed record in Malaysia. This year, they are focused on enhancing the efficiency of their designs with the aim of establishing new speed and distance records. Additionally, students are assembling two kitset electric vehicles that they can drive.
We are seeking inventors, creative thinkers, and individuals who are willing to explore beyond conventional curriculum boundaries to help propel our innovation initiatives. We aim to be a pioneering institution in learning, engaging our students in authentic, real-world project-based inquiries in engineering and technology, rather than merely replicating what other schools do.
Candidates should be familiar with or capable of working within a British Curriculum framework and must thrive in an environment where English serves as the medium of instruction. A minimum of three years of teaching experience and qualified teacher status (QTS) is essential.
Expatriate Life in Malaysia

With its wealth of natural resources, stunning tropical islands, exotic jungles, and modern vibrant cities, Malaysia provides expatriate teachers with an incredible lifestyle.
Our school
HELP International School is a leader in holistic education for students aged 3 to 18 in Malaysia. Recent consultations with staff have underscored the strong sense of collegiality and professional support within the school, reflecting its commitment to the ongoing professional development of all team members. Our host country, Malaysia, is a fantastic place to live and work, with many staff members enjoying their fourth or fifth year at our school.
