About This Role

Job Summary
We are in search of a skilled and committed Subject Teacher with a robust background in private or international education. This role involves delivering exceptional instruction, nurturing student growth, and enhancing the overall academic excellence of our institution.

The perfect candidate will possess prior teaching experience in an international or private school setting, hold a PGCE, QTS, or a U.S. teaching certificate, and showcase proficiency in their subject area. Familiarity with international curricula such as AL, AP, and IGCSE is highly advantageous.

Locations Available: Shenzhen, Shanghai

Key Responsibilities
Planning, Teaching, and Class Management
1. Design and conduct up to 25 lessons weekly. Should teaching hours fall short, the school may assign alternative duties as needed, and teachers are expected to approach these tasks with professionalism and cooperation.
2. Provide lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, class observation records, and other required teaching materials.
3. Maintain a positive classroom environment by managing student behavior and discipline, and communicate with senior leadership when necessary.
4. Strive to improve teaching quality continually and uphold high academic standards.
5. Engage in routine academic and school meetings.
6. Undertake assigned evening duties as necessary.

Tracking, Assessment, Recording, and Reporting
1. Evaluate, monitor, and track student performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
2. Prepare, assign, and grade homework, quizzes, and various learning assessments.
3. Administer and evaluate examinations, analyze outcomes, and create performance reports.
4. Participate in academic research and departmental meetings.
5. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents to update them on student progress.

Activities
1. Plan and coordinate student activities, including open classes, festive events, and campus decorations.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to co-host and assist with school events as required.
3. Mentor and coach students for local, national, or international competitions.
4. Lead at least one extracurricular activity or club.
5. Assist with student admissions events and promotional initiatives.
6. Support the University Counseling Department with tasks such as writing recommendation letters, assisting in academic competitions, and organizing study tours.
7. Work alongside the Pastoral Department to aid House events, Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) programs, and other student development activities.

Others
1. Perform related tasks as directed by the Line Manager and Principal.

Required Qualifications & Experience
1. A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
2. A Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in a related subject.
3. A PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certificate is required.
4. Strong knowledge of international curriculum systems.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
6. A passion for student-centered education and innovative teaching practices.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
