About This Role
About Wellington Shanghai
Established in August 2014 and situated in the New Bund district, Wellington College International Shanghai is a co-educational day school catering to over 1600 students, ranging from 2 to 18 years old. The school operates under a clear Vision and Purpose that is rooted in three strong pillars and encapsulated in our motto: ‘Be You. Be More.’ With our five Wellington Values—Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage, and Integrity—we provide an innovative educational experience aimed at fostering a better world. Our curriculum merges the finest aspects of British and international educational practices to create a student-centered, multilingual, multicultural, and inclusive environment. We motivate our children to become Learners, Connectors, and Changemakers, encouraging them to embrace their individuality, take pride in their backgrounds, and strive to effect positive change in the world.
The College is structured into three divisions: Early Years (Pre-Nursery to Reception) located at the Early Years Centre, Primary School (Year 1 to Year 6), and Secondary School (Years 7 to 13) on the main campus. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum through both the English National and International Primary Curriculum, Wellington students are well-prepared to pursue various IGCSE subjects in Years 10 and 11, leading into the challenging IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13.
Our institution is ranked #2 in China by Hurun, the foremost school index in the country, and is featured in the Carfax Schools Index Top 150. Our graduates have gained admission to 12 of the US News and World Report's Top 20 Universities and 10 of the QS Top 20 Universities. In 2024, our average IB score was 37.1. Our students benefit from exceptional opportunities to excel in academics, sports, the arts, and leadership roles.
While we acknowledge the significance of success in public examinations and celebrate it, our primary aim at Wellington College is to cultivate students who are the best versions of themselves: individuals who embody kindness, act with integrity, take responsibility, respect their environment and others, and demonstrate courage when necessary. The Wellington values guide our understanding of what it means to be a Wellingtonian, shaping our actions and aspirations.
Our employment package is highly attractive, featuring competitive salaries, housing, flight allowances, medical insurance, and additional benefits. We strive to be exemplary employers, enjoying a notably low teacher turnover rate since our inception.
