About the Role

We are looking to hire an experienced and creative English Teacher to commence in August 2026. This one-year position offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of our vibrant and collaborative English faculty within the Secondary section. Over 600 secondary students pursue a tailored curriculum in Key Stage 3 before advancing to CIE IGCSE and IB Diploma courses in English Language and Literature or English Literature. Each year, a select group of students is entered for the GCSE ESL and English B Diploma programs.

The team consists of 9 full-time members, led by a Head of Faculty and a Deputy Head of Faculty. St. Julian’s students are motivated and ambitious, with many progressing to prestigious universities. Our selection of texts aims to provide a diverse curriculum and stimulate discussions on topics pertinent to our international student body.

We take pride in the support we provide to our students, and all teachers are encouraged to actively participate in pastoral care as either a form tutor or support tutor.

Essential Requirements:

- A degree in English or a related discipline
- A recognized teaching qualification
- Proven experience of high-quality teaching across KS3, 4 & 5
- Experience with IB Language B or GCSE English as a Second Language
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, innovative, and compassionate in teaching and learning
- Evidence of collaborative planning and teamwork

Desirable Qualifications:

- Experience teaching CIE IGCSE
- Experience teaching IB Diploma at SL or HL
