About This Role

Aldar Education is currently looking for an Assistant Principal to join Noya British School in Abu Dhabi for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities


• Oversee and ensure the quality of the work conducted by staff and students, maintaining a secure, organized, and efficient environment that fosters learning.
• Assist in managing the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule, collaborating closely with the school Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and department heads.
• Work in partnership with the Principal and Vice Principal to supervise and evaluate teachers, supervisors, and assigned curriculum support staff.
• Lead the process of screening and interviewing candidates, including for non-teaching roles, and provide recommendations for applicants to be interviewed.
• Execute strategies for enhancing student achievement as outlined in the school development plan and in accordance with ADEK regulations, as directed by Aldar Education. This includes developing school improvement plans, standardized testing, remediation efforts, data collection and reporting, and creating special schedules and testing procedures as needed.
• Direct student achievement initiatives, including managing the MAP/Exact Path student achievement plan, establishing a progress-based testing schedule in collaboration with assessment coordinators, and overseeing processes related to assessment and reporting of student progress and attainment, data collection, student records, and archiving.
• Collaborate with the SLT on the introduction of new or revised instructional methods, materials, strategies, and programs.
• Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing plans for staff continuous professional development (CPD) that promote professional growth and enhance teaching quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a B.Sc degree with PGCE is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching performance that exceeds standards and expectations, demonstrated through performance appraisals.
• At least 2 years in a middle leadership position.
• Experience in leading school initiatives that have successfully improved standards and student achievement, as well as working with parents and external agencies.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of teaching and learning, with a proven history of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and address learning gaps.
• Proficient in working with data to diagnose issues, intervene effectively, and assess impact on learning.
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
