Position Overview
Tessa International School is on the lookout for a committed and introspective Physical, Social, and Personal Education (PSPE) Teacher to engage with Preschool and Primary Years students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is vital in fostering students’ physical growth, wellness, cooperation, and self-regulation as part of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Key Responsibilities
•
Create and implement age-appropriate PSPE learning experiences that align with the IB PYP.
•
Enhance students’ physical coordination, teamwork, self-regulation, and overall health.
•
Cultivate inclusive, respectful, and secure learning environments.
•
Work in collaboration with classroom educators to support transdisciplinary learning.
•
Plan and facilitate movement-oriented activities, events, and school initiatives.
•
Observe, evaluate, and document students’ progress in physical, social, and personal development.
•
Communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
•
Engage in professional development, meetings, and collaborative planning activities.
Qualifications
Required
•
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related discipline.
•
Teaching certification or equivalent professional experience.
•
Experience with preschool and/or primary-aged children.
•
Fluency in English.
•
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred
•
Master’s degree in a related area.
•
Knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme or inquiry-based education.
•
Background in bilingual, international, or independent school environments.
•
Strong skills in classroom management and relationship building.
Salary
•
Starting at $57,000.
