Tessa International School is an expanding, high-caliber bilingual institution situated in Hoboken, New Jersey, only one stop away from Manhattan. We offer three language immersion programs—Spanish, French, and Mandarin—and hold accreditation from the International Baccalaureate (IB) as well as the French Ministry of Education. Additionally, we have been recognized as a model school by NAIS.
We are looking for enthusiastic, reflective, and committed Early Childhood educators to join our team and support our youngest students in their academic, social, and emotional growth within a bilingual, inquiry-based framework.
In the role of Preschool French Lead Teacher, you will instruct a French immersion preschool class utilizing an 80-20 immersion model. By becoming a part of our lively educational community, you will significantly influence the educational journey of our students, emphasizing both academic excellence and social-emotional growth.
•
Design and implement engaging, well-organized lessons that connect classroom learning to real-life situations, fostering enthusiasm and academic achievement in alignment with IB and state standards.
•
Differentiate instruction using various developmentally suitable teaching and assessment strategies to accommodate all learners.
•
Monitor and support the academic, emotional, and social growth of students.
•
Uphold high expectations for student behavior to create a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
•
Meaningfully integrate technology to enhance student learning experiences.
•
Cultivate a strong sense of community by actively engaging with students, colleagues, and families.
•
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, leadership, and staff throughout the school.
•
Pursue ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
•
Engage in curriculum development, team planning, and faculty meetings.
•
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
•
Fluency in both English and French
•
Authorization to work in the U.S.
•
Master’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred
•
At least 3 years of Preschool experience
•
Experience with the IB PYP and/or dual language programs is preferred
