About This Role
Utilize a variety of inquiry methods (such as open, structured, and guided) to spark students’ curiosity and equip them with the skills necessary to form their own understanding and thrive as autonomous lifelong learners.
· Instruct students on conceptual knowledge that spans across and beyond subject disciplines to help them grasp complex ideas and overarching themes. Deliberately formulate questions, inquiries, and provocations to foster conceptual comprehension while linking content, skills, and concepts.
· Design real-world learning experiences that allow students to assimilate new information by relating it to their own local experiences as well as to broader global contexts, thereby nurturing their international mindedness.
· Collaboratively and purposefully plan to create interactive and cooperative learning opportunities that promote effective dialogue and feedback, utilizing data to adaptively address the needs of students.
· Collaborate with colleagues to accommodate student diversity by enhancing self-esteem, acknowledging prior knowledge, scaffolding and enriching the learning experiences of all students, and providing challenging, meaningful work.
· Strategically plan, organize, and implement ongoing assessments alongside students and colleagues to monitor, document, evaluate, and report on learning progress. Leverage “Assessment as and for Learning” data to gain insights for refining teaching and learning approaches.
· Teach with a focus on approaches to learning skills by pinpointing the specific skills and dispositions being taught. Deliberately instruct students in the strategies and techniques that facilitate their information processing and promote the transfer of these skills alongside self-regulation.
· Seamlessly incorporate technology to enrich students' learning experiences. Reflect on the rationale and methods for employing technology while ensuring digital integrity.
· Enhance and support students’ language acquisition by activating prior knowledge and building background understanding, scaffolding language development, enriching vocabulary, and affirming their identities.
· Plan to empower students to embrace sustainability principles and navigate complex systems, enabling them to take initiative or advocate for actions that restore and maintain ecosystem health while promoting equity and envisioning a sustainable future.
· Engage actively in professional inquiry (such as PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, data teams, etc.) with the goal of continually reflecting on practices and enhancing learning for all students.
· Reflect on beliefs regarding professional responsibilities to conduct oneself with integrity and transparency, connect and nurture learning communities, and respect and promote both local and global cultures.
