IBDP/HSD Chemistry Specialist Teacher

The Hamilton International School is on the lookout for an outstanding IBDP/HSD Chemistry Specialist Teacher to become part of our vibrant Secondary team. This is a remarkable chance for a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to make a significant impact in a growing institution and help elevate the standards of science education.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a motivating Chemistry instructor, eager to spark curiosity and foster a passion for scientific learning among students in Grades 9–12. Additionally, the educator will teach General Science for Grades 6–8 and play an integral role in curriculum enhancement, assessments, and enriching the overall school experience.

Key Responsibilities


Instruct General Science (Grades 6–8) and Chemistry (Grades 9–12) within the High School Diploma and/or IBDP frameworks.


Provide high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire, challenge, and assist students of varying abilities.


Design innovative lesson plans, assess student learning effectively, and utilize data to promote academic progress.


Contribute to the development of departmental resources, including schemes of work.


Maintain strong communication with students, staff, and parents.


Ensure high standards of classroom management and student conduct.


Engage in the broader school community through extracurricular activities and events.


Promote and exemplify the school’s values, safeguarding principles, and professional standards.

What We’re Looking For


Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant Science/Chemistry discipline.


A valid teaching certification that aligns with Qatar MoEHE requirements.


Demonstrated experience teaching Chemistry at the High School Diploma/IBDP/A Level (experience in IB DP Chemistry is a significant advantage).


A solid understanding of curriculum development and differentiated instruction.


A passion for nurturing students’ intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.


A proactive, collaborative team player committed to ongoing improvement.


Excellent classroom management and communication abilities.
