Primary Homeroom Teacher (German language)

Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Teaching & Learning
•
Design, prepare, and conduct engaging lessons in German language and [Subjects], adhering to the school's established curriculum.
•
Implement a variety of instructional methods to address various learning styles and proficiency levels.
•
Combine language learning objectives with [Subjects] content to enhance academic language skills in both areas.
•
Effectively utilize educational technology to boost student engagement and learning outcomes.
2. Assessment & Reporting
•
Create and administer both formative and summative assessments to track student progress in German and [Subjects].
•
Deliver timely, constructive feedback that is actionable for students.
•
Keep accurate records of student performance and compile comprehensive student reports.
•
Analyze assessment outcomes to guide future teaching strategies and interventions.
3. Classroom Management & Student Support
•
Foster a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere.
•
Set and uphold clear expectations for student behavior and classroom procedures.
•
Recognize and address the individual learning requirements of all students, including those needing extra challenges or support.
4. Professional & Community Engagement
•
Work collaboratively with colleagues in both the Language and [Subject] departments.
•
Engage actively in departmental meetings, school-wide training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
•
Maintain effective and professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress.
•
Contribute to the broader school community by participating in events, clubs, or committees.
Qualifications & Requirements
•
Education & Certification
•
A Bachelor's degree in Education, German, [Subjects], or a closely related discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
•
A valid teaching certification/license that qualifies you to teach both German and [Subject] at the appropriate school level.
•
Experience
•
At least 2 years of successful teaching experience in German and [Subjects].
•
Language Proficiency
•
Native or near-native fluency in German (C2 level as per CEFR).
•
Professional proficiency in English adequate for collaboration, reporting, and communication within the school environment.
•
Knowledge & Skills
•
Comprehensive understanding of German language pedagogy and [Subjects].
•
Strong grasp of principles related to second language acquisition.
•
Exceptional classroom management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
•
Proficiency in utilizing standard educational tools and platforms.
