English Teacher (High School Diploma / IBDP)

About the Role

We seek a dedicated and student-focused English educator who has experience teaching students in Grades 6–12, encompassing both High School Diploma and/or IBDP English. The ideal candidate will instill a passion for literature and language, provide enriching learning experiences, and uphold the highest standards in achievement, literacy, and expression.

Key Responsibilities


Instruct English for Grades 6–12, including courses for the High School Diploma and/or IBDP.


Design and deliver engaging, well-organized lessons that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and academic success.


Implement effective assessment methods to track student progress and guide lesson planning.


Adapt teaching strategies to cater to a diverse range of learners, including EAL and advanced students.


Establish a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere that is grounded in high expectations.


Participate in the development of curriculum, schemes of work, and departmental resources.


Maintain clear and open communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.


Engage in the broader school community, contributing to extracurricular and enrichment activities.


Adhere to the school’s standards for safeguarding, health and safety, and professional behavior.

Qualifications & Experience


A Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (with a teaching qualification).


A valid teaching certification that complies with Qatar MOEHE requirements.


At least 3 years of teaching experience, including roles in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English.


A solid understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching methodologies.


Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management abilities.


Capacity to thrive in a collaborative, international, multicultural setting.


A commitment to continuous professional development and student wellbeing.
