Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning for outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy by:
- Creating a learning atmosphere that fosters exceptional educational practices;
- Setting clear teaching and learning goals;
- Establishing defined targets that build upon prior achievements;
- Recognizing students with SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T needs, ensuring suitable differentiation;
- Designing and organizing lessons and activities that engage and challenge students;
- Effectively utilizing assessment for learning;
- Analyzing performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning and differentiation;
- Using ICT to enhance student learning and advancement;
- Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school's 'Behaviour for Learning Policy' while promoting positive practices for punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework;
- Assessing the attainment of learning objectives and leveraging this data to improve teaching methods;
- Grading student work bi-weekly and establishing progress targets following the school's Marking Policy;
- Systematically monitoring and recording student progress, using performance data to inform planning and instruction;
- Conducting assessments as required by examination boards and school protocols;
- Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents;
- Engaging in and supporting events for parents and students;
- Participating in subject development through the creation, review, and updating of curriculum plans and schemes of work;
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, as necessary;
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, accompanied by a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Minimum Experience
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
- Preferred experience in EYFS.
